Dr. Shrey Binyala is a spine surgeon trained across leading institutions in India and internationally. He completed his MBBS and MS in Orthopaedics, securing first rank in his medical college, followed by DNB Orthopaedics and MRCS (Edinburgh, UK). He further holds fellowships in spine surgery including FISS, FMISS, FMISSAB, and FESS (South Korea and Germany).
He underwent three years of Junior Residency and one year of Senior Residency at MGM Medical College & Hospital, Navi Mumbai, gaining extensive experience in orthopaedic trauma and reconstructive surgery. With a focused interest in spinal disorders, he subsequently pursued a Spine Surgery Fellowship at Sion Hospital, Mumbai, where he secured first rank in the university in the fellowship exit examination, placing him first in the state as well.
Dr. Binyala further refined his expertise in Minimally Invasive and 3D Navigated Spine Surgery under the mentorship of Dr. Vishal Peshattiwar at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai, one of India’s leading centers for advanced spine care.
To advance his skills in modern spine techniques, he pursued international fellowships in Endoscopic Spine Surgery at AIN Hospital, Incheon, South Korea; Schön Klinik, Munich, Germany; and St. Anna Hospital, Herne, Germany, along with the MISSAB Fellowship at Railway Hospital, Byculla, Mumbai, gaining exposure to some of the most advanced minimally invasive and endoscopic spine procedures.
Academically active, Dr. Binyala has authored 13 publications in peer-reviewed national and international high-impact journals and continues to work on further research, as continued learning is essential in this rapidly evolving field. His research has been presented at major national and international conferences, including meetings in Brazil, Taiwan, and Thailand. In recognition of his academic contributions, he has been invited to present research and moderate sessions at the Global Spine Congress 2026 in Turkey.

Outside the operating room, Dr. Shrey Binyala has always been deeply passionate about sports, a pursuit that has shaped both his discipline and outlook on life. During his school years, he competed as a state-level swimmer and squash player, and served as Vice Captain of his school basketball team, representing the institution at district and state-level tournaments.
He also trained as a cricketer at the Rajasthan Royals Academy under coach Monty Desai. During his MBBS years, he represented his medical college in inter-collegiate cricket as a batting all-rounder, finishing runners-up at the A.S. Chagla Cricket Tournament organized by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).
Despite the demanding schedule of a spine surgeon, Dr. Binyala continues to stay connected to sport. He is an active member of the Arsenal Mumbai Supporters Club and still plays football with fellow members almost every Sunday whenever time permits.
His lifelong connection with sport strongly shapes his vision as a spine surgeon. Dr. Binyala believes that back pain and spinal disorders should never prevent people from leading active, fulfilling lives.
